New to salsa or ready to build a strong foundation? Salsa Footwork & Shines — Beginner is a welcoming class for dancers with little or no salsa experience, focused on timing, footwork, and shines from your very first class.
You'll build coordination, balance, and body movement step by step, along with real salsa technique, an introduction to musicality, and the beginnings of your own personal styling — all taught progressively so each class builds on the last.
We'll focus on skills you can use both on the social dance floor and as a foundation for continuing your training, helping you feel more confident and comfortable in your movement from day one.
Perfect for beginners, newer dancers, and anyone looking to build their salsa fundamentals. Open to all genders. No partner required.

You'll deepen your musicality and rhythmic interpretation, refine your body movement and technique, and keep developing your personal styling — learning to connect movements together with greater control and flow.
This class is about more than memorizing steps: you'll work on personal expression and performance quality, so your dancing feels smoother, more natural, and more your own, whether you're dancing socially or performing choreography.

Katelyn “Kate” Cauthen began dancing at just three years old in Northern Kentucky and has spent nearly three decades developing her craft across ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, salsa, bachata and cha-cha.
With more than 15 years of competitive dance experience, Kate brings a strong technical foundation to her Latin dance training. For the past seven years she's focused on salsa and bachata, specializing in Salsa On2, salsa fusion, and technique for Latin dancers.
Teaching has always been part of her journey — 10 years with young dancers and four years coaching adults in Latin dance. Today she teaches children's ballet, tap and jazz, leads CinciMovement's Salsa Footwork & Shines classes, and coaches Strive by ConfiDance, a competitive salsa team whose dancers have earned Platinum-level adjudications and placed as high as 9th overall.
Kate has also worked one-on-one with Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader Ashley Martinez on dance technique in preparation for auditions.

Yes. Start with the Beginner class at 6:30 PM.
Which class should I take?
Beginner is designed for new dancers and dancers strengthening their foundation. Intermediate is designed for dancers who already understand salsa fundamentals and want to develop more technique, styling, body movement, musicality, and flow.
Can I come by myself?
Absolutely. Many students attend alone.
Can I bring a friend?
Yes. If your friend is a new student, their first class is free.
